1. Assistant Director

Do you have a passionate mature Christian faith that you share with others? Do you have a desire to serve others? Do you love teaching, coaching and discipling others, while fostering  a supportive environment for volunteers and staff? Do you like to be involved in the planning and execution of events? Do you enjoy organizing resources? Do you have a strong back to lift, carry and maneuver heavy tubs of baby supplies and baby equipment?


We are accepting applications for the Assistant director role. This individual will help to oversee day to day operations and client care. 

Hiring deadline September 1st, ( or sooner if the right applicant comes along) 

The position comes with benefits, ongoing training and development opportunities. Hours will be 9-4:30 Monday through Friday but may change in accordance the the needs of the ministry.

Qualifications: 


  1. Agree with and be willing to uphold our core documents, Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and policies of the Centre
  2. Have experience preferably in a helping field, or related experience
  3. Have two years of experience in a helping profession in a position requiring management experience or equivalent.
  4. Exhibit skill in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and problem solving.
  5. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and support to the volunteers from a Christian perspective
  6. Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
  7. Be comfortable sharing your faith

Essential Responsibilities:


I. Administrative

  1. Develop and maintain monthly schedule for client service workers (volunteers)
  2. Maintain accurate statistical information, including data entry
  3. Oversee all client programs offered
  4. Evaluate each program quarterly and report to the Executive Director
  5. Complete required yearly statistical information for CAPSS
  6. Assist in the planning and implementing of fundraiser and volunteer events


II. Client Services

  1. Oversee peer counselling and other services provided for clients
  2. Provide peer counselling and services for clients when volunteers are not available.
  3. Maintain and update the referral resources for volunteer and client use
  4. Maintain counselling rooms supplies, office supplies and client resources
  5. Evaluate, select, and maintain needed educational materials and resources for client use with the help of the Executive Director
  6. Be available to minister to the needs of the volunteers
  7. Oversee all practical help resources, and ensure quality control and safety standards are maintained.


III. Training

  1. Assist in conducting volunteer training seminars
  2. Assist in recruiting, selecting, and interviewing possible volunteers for the Centre
  3. Conduct and supervise the orientation of new volunteers in the Centre
  4. Assist in scheduling volunteer in-service trainings.

All staff are required to attend and help organize special events to promote the Centre (includes fundraising events)





2. Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director

Do you enjoy working collaboratively? Are you a good listener?  Do you enjoy data entry? Are you tech savvy, enjoying the best in a variety of computer programs to create advertising, documents and resources?  Do you like to file, print and manage documentation? Are you good with basic bookkeeping? Are you bondable? Do you like working through a list of responsibilities? Are you you able to sit for long hours? 


We are accepting applications for the administrative assistant to the Director.  This person's role is a combination of basic admin skills and collaborative networkings skills. The individual will be involved in helping to organize all parts of the ministry, while providing support directly to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Donation Management:

  • Prepare all donations for deposit, creating cash sheets and/or and deposit slips, photo copying cheques
  • Ensuring donor is thanked
  • Providing the bookkeeper with necessary information
  • Maintaining donor information within the database


Fundraising

  • Assisting with all our fundraisers
  • Providing collaborative input towards the organization of events
  • Attending planning meeting, and keeping notes at those meetings


Volunteer management

  • Delegating smaller tasks to administrative volunteers as they become available
  • Providing leadership to office volunteers for events and general work


General Administration

  • Create or compile administrative resources as needed
  • Maintain accurate donor contact information
  • Contact donors or churches as necessary to obtain relevant information
  • Provide technical support as needed
  • Answer phones and doors when volunteers are unavailable
  • Complete filing and organizational tasks
  • Create documents, marketing, and resources as required
  • Print, copy, scan, fax, and compile documentation
  • Assist with all incoming and outgoing mail including payment of bills
  • Maintain databases, providing reports and information as needed.
  • Ensure computers are up to date with current anti virus


 

3. Sexual Health Education Co-ordinator PT 

Do you like giving public presentations to youth and young adults? Do you have training in nursing or a similar field. We are looking for someone who has a passion for teaching healthy sexuality from a Christian perspective. This individual must be self - motivated and be prepared to give 10- 20 presentations annually.   For more details please contact Kirsten at 250-716-1633


Objectives of the position: The Abstinence Director has the responsibility for the overall development, implementation, and operation of the abstinence education program of the pregnancy center. This includes the training and management of all volunteers, and the implementation of necessary programs to facilitate the abstinence education program in schools, churches, and organizations.

Reports to: The Executive Director or Center Director

Supervises: All volunteer staff assisting the program


Qualifications:

  1. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  2. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity
  3. Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and policies of the center
  4. Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a helping field, or related experience equivalent
  5. Have one year of experience as a volunteer in some ministry capacity
  6. Have two years of experience in helping profession in a position requiring some management skills, or related experience
  7. Exhibit skill in interpersonal communication, public speaking, and problem solving
  8. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and support to the volunteers
  9. Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision

Essential Functions:



Administration

  1. Recruit and establish a prayer team as an integral part of the program
  2. Evaluate, select, and maintain needed educational materials and resources for the program
  3. Schedule and implement all program requests and appropriate speakers by making initial contact with teachers and following up as needed.
  4. Interact with the Executive Director to relate needs, problems, progress, goal setting, and implementation
  5. Provide students with feed back forms and record result stats on site
  6. Update Ekyros with each teaching session


Training

  1. Recruit, select, and interview support volunteers for the program
  2. Provide supervision of the training program as set forth in the training manual 
  3. Provide on-going training for the volunteer
  4. Continue to develop and revise a training manual for the program
